이일우 개인전 “침묵의 목소리 (Voice of silence)”

침묵의 목소리 (Voice of silence) 작업은 동시대를 살아가고 있는 현대인들의 상처를 해변이라는 환경에서 초상의 형식으로 드러냄으로 당사자에게는 치유의 방법을 제시하고 관객에게는 타자에 대한 동질성 회복과 우리가 지닌 상처의 의미를 생각하는 것에 작업 목적이 있다.

상처란 현대인에게 남에게 드러내는 형태로 존재하는 것이 아니라 개인 안에 억눌려 치유되기 보다는 지속적인 아픔과 고통을 수반한다. 더욱이 동시대를 살아가는 우리들에게는 사회는 치유의 환경을 제공하기 보다는 지속적으로 개인들이 상처를 받을 수 있는 환경을 제공하는 형태로 발전하고 있다. 이에 개인이 지닌 상처를 해변이라는 공간에서 드러냄으로 치유의 과정을 진행하고 이를 타자들과 전시를 통해 공유함으로 현대인들의 동질성 회복과 이해를 회복하는 것에 작업의 의의가 있다.

< Voice of Silence> represents people, who live today with wounded hearts, as portraits on the beach. This project could give audiences some tips on how to cure it and proposes how they can recover the homogeneity of the ““Others””. This finally makes them understand what the wounded heart actually means is, or what it is they are suffering from.

What some people are suffering from people these days is totally invisible to others and suppressed by some turmoil within themselves, so this produces continuous pain and distress without being relieved.Moreover society is developing an environment where people who are suffering from stress and anxiety are not helped to heal.

This project performs the whole process of curing wounded people on the beach. It’s importance is that the outputs as portraits, could share the process with ““Others”” throughout the exhibition and recover homogeneity and understanding.
