환기미술관은 미술관의 탁월한 유기적 공간구조를 활용한 조형실험으로 ‘소통과 융합’이라는 화두와 담론을 제안하는 ‘공간프로젝트’를 선보여 왔으며, 2014년 환기미술관 공간프로젝트로서 ‘Site Whanki_Wave’를 개최한다. ‘치유와 긍정 그리고 소통의 에너지 창출을 위한 메신저’이길 희망하는 전시 ‘Site Whanki_Wave’는 소리, 빛, 이미지 등 근원적이고 순수한 조형예술요소들이 환기미술관 공간에서 독창적이며 드라마틱한 해석을 전개시키면서 ‘보고, 듣고, 느끼고, 참여함’이 교차, 공존하여 생성되는 조화롭고 창조적인 에너지를 발생시키는 것을 목표로 한다.

장르간의 경계를 넘나들면서 혁신적인 실험성을 추구하는 동시에 대중과 적극 소통하는 작품세계를 전개시키는 공통점을 가지는 본 전시의 참여작가들은 보고, 듣고, 느끼는 예술언어로써 치유와 소통, 공감과 교감 그리고 나눔을 위한 메시지를 전하고 있다. 이들이 선보이는 작품세계는 인류의 향상된 삶의 가치 추구를 위한 의지와 희망적인 미래를 향해 열려있으며, 보다 많은 사람들과 그 실천의지를 공유하고 교류하려는 희망을 품고 있다.

The Whanki Museum has brought up a conversation and presented discourse on issues of ‘communication and convergence’ through the use of excellent organic space of the museum in ‘Space Project’ and in 2014 the museum presents Whanki Museum Space Project ‘Site Whanki_Wave’. The exhibition ‘Site Whanki_Wave’ which will be ‘a messenger to create energy of healing, positive affirmation and communication’ uses creative and dramatic displays of original elements of art in the space of Whanki Museum, thereby generating harmonious and creative energy formed by the crossing and coexistence of ‘seeing, hearing, feeling and participating’.

By expressing their own senses of seeing, listening, and feeling, the artists of this exhibition who are rooted in various identities and transcend multiple genres, pursue innovative experiments, and actively communicate with the public. The ideas behind their works pursue improvement in the value of human life and hope for the future, and communicate with more people to bring these ideas into action.
